Report: Abbas says Israel can keep J'lem's Jewish Quarter, Kotel

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas gave US special envoy George Mitchell several written proposals for an agreement with Israel, including an Israeli withdrawal from Jerusalem's Old City, expect for the Jewish Quarter and the Western Wall, London-based al-Hayat newspaper reported on Saturday.

According to the report, Abbas proposed establishing a Palestinian state on the entire territory of the West Bank, with a land swap in exchange for Gush Etzion, Givat Ze'ev and Modi'in Ilit, as well as a strip of land around Ben Gurion International Airport. In exchange, the Palestinians demand a similar area of land around Hebron. (Roee Nahmias)
