Labor sources: Danger of serious party rift
Senior sources in the Labor party said to Ynet that tension between Party Chairman Ehud Barak and faction members is liable to develop into a serious internal crisis. However, the sources also noted that the results of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's meeting with US President Barack Obama must be seen, to ascertain whether Barak will have any influence on Netanyahu and push him to negotiate with the Palestinians.
It is thought that if there is significant policy change, Labor will unite around Barak again, but if there is no such change, the internal party rifts will only get worse. (Attila Somfalvi)
