England, Germany, UAE not fueling Iranian planes

Airports in England, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates are not fueling airplanes belonging to Iranian airlines ever since last week when the US Congress authorized sanctions against the Islamic Republic. The sanctions stipulated that companies supplying fuel to Tehran may lose their contracts with the Americans.

"Ever since last Thursday, airports in some countries are not supplying fuel to Iranian planes," said Mehdi Aliyari, secretary of the Iranian Airlines Guild, told Iranian news agency ISNA. As a result, he said, the planes are forced to fuel in Iran or to make intermediary landings in other countries. (Dudi Cohen)
