Aharonovitch: Delays in Egyptian border fence are failure

Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch said, "The fact that construction of the border fence between Israel and Egypt has not yet started is a failure."
The minister noted that the cabinet's decision to erect a barrier there, adding, "The significance of this failure is that hundreds of infiltrators from Eritrea and Sudan enter every week and present a criminal and security threat to Israel." The minister made these statements during a visit to Ramat Negev Regional Council, which is close to the Egyptian border. (Ilana Curiel)
