Several Druze residents of the Golan received medical treatment in Syria this year, Deputy Minister Ayoob Kara (Likud) said during a tour of Tel Aviv's Sourasky Medical Center on Tuesday. The Druze crossed the border and underwent organ transplants, receiving organs donated by relatives in Syria. "The patients left on beds, nearly dead, and came back alive," he said.
In response, the hospital's director, Professor Gabi Barbash said he is willing to perform the operations at his hospital, and noted that dozens of Palestinians are treated at the hospital each month, as well as citizens of countries "we don't exactly fly through". (Meital Yasur Beit Or)
