The Knesset rejected MK Amir Peretz's bill calling to raise the minimum wage to NIS 4,600 ($about 1,182) by a 59- 39 vote.
Meanwhile, it was reported that the salaries of MKs and ministers are expected to increase by thousands of shekels in 2010. (Attila Somfalvi)
