UN rights body to name Gaza probe members

The chair of the UN Human Rights Council says he hopes to name up to four experts Friday to conduct a probe of Israel's deadly raid on the Gaza aid flotilla. Sihasak Phuangketkeow said Wednesday the members will be selected "on the basis of their renowned expertise, independence and impartiality."
The mission created by the Geneva-based council last month is due visit the region in August and report back in September. Philippe Kirsch, a prominent legal expert whose name has been mentioned in the Israeli media as a possible head of the mission declined to participate. (AP)
