British marine killed by blast in Afghanistan
Britain's Defense Ministry says a Royal Marine has been killed in an explosion in the Sangin district of Afghanistan's Helmand province.
The ministry's announcement on Friday did not immediately identify the victim, who was killed by an explosion on Thursday. The victim was the 101st British soldier to die in the Sangin area, where US forces will replace Britain later this year. (AP)
