Rightists enter Jericho accompanied by soldiers
A group of 50 right-wing activists entered the West Bank city of Jericho accompanied by Israel Defense Forces soldiers. The group reached the ancient Jewish synagogue in the area.
In violation of their agreement with the army, the activists waved a flag of Israel and affixed a mezuzah at the entrance to the building. "This activity is another step towards renewing the Jewish presence in the city of Jericho," one of them said. (Shmulik Grossman)
