US criticizes razing of homes in east Jerusalem

State Department Spokesman Phllip Crowley criticized on Wednesday the razing of homes in east Jerusalem and said, "The kinds of actions that we saw yesterday in the demolition of houses, we understand fully that this raises the emotions; understandably so."
During a press briefing Crowley added, "It is exactly the kind of unilateral action that undermines trust. It is the very kind of action that poses a potential obstacle to direct negotiations." (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
