Shin Bet searches home of Pearlman's parents

'Security agency trying to get him to confess to crimes he didn’t commit,' associate says

Police officers and Shin Bet personnel searched overnight Friday the home of the parents of Haim Pearlman, sources close to the alleged "Jewish terrorist" said.

Pearlman is suspected of murdering four Arabs in the late 1990s.

One of his associates said, "The Shin Bet is panicking and trying to get Pearlman to confess to crimes he did not commit."

Pearlman, a 30 year old extreme right-wing activist and father of three, is suspected of committing a string of attacks against Palestinians in Jerusalem's Mea Shearim neighborhood some 12 years ago, in what was known as the "serial stabber" affair.

In a recent interview with Channel 2, Pearlman claimed he was being framed by the Shin Bet. "They fabricated the whole thing, just like in the 'Truman Show'. They are trying to frame me. That's what I think," he said.

On Thursday associates distributed recordings of alleged conversations between Pearlman and his handler, in which the two discussed assassinating head of the Islamic Movement's northern branch, Sheikh Raed Salah.
