Assad: Turkey greatest hope as mediator with Israel

Syrian President Bashar Assad stressed in an interview to Turkish reporters that Ankara is his country's "greatest hope" for mediation in peace negotiations with Israel.
"Other countries can play a supporting role, but are no replacement. We are confident that Turkey will fill this role. If we had found a better mediator, we would have contacted it," Assad said. (Ynet)
