Fatah rejects Mitchell's request for direct talks
None
Fatah PR chief Mohammed Dahlan said Saturday that his organization has rejected a request by US special envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell to start direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Dahlan claimed that Israel has not accepted the PA's demands on security and border issues and therefore there is no reason to resume direct talks.
It should be noted that Fatah's stance does not necessarily represent the PA's official stance. (Ali Waked)
