Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting that Israel is "the only western state that does not have an immigration policy."
Referencing the citizenship bill that will be presented Sunday to the ministers, Netanyahu said, "This is a national matter of the first degree that has demographic and humanitarian aspects to it. It is our desire to match Israel's entry requirements with our security interests and the preservation of Israel's Jewish and democratic character." (Roni Sofer)
