Shalits ask Ashton to work for son's release

Noam and Aviva Shalit, parents of captive soldier Gilad Shalit, met with EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton in Jerusalem on Monday, and asked her to work to secure their son's release in her meetings with Palestinian officials.
Ashton said that he raises the issue in all of her meetings, but noted that there is also a need to put an end to the Gazan public's "suffering." (Ahiya Raved)
