Yishai: Station soldiers in south to block infiltrators

"Do you want for us to have to issue passports in order to reach Eilat? This is a fight over the south, and we are liable to lose it," warned Interior Minister Eli Yishai during a special cabinet meeting held to discuss Israel's immigration policy.
Minister Yishai suggested that soldiers be stationed in the south of the country in order to stem the tide of infiltrators entering the country and ordered the immediate construction of two detention facilities. "I’m not concerned about budget. This is an existential threat to the State of Israel," he said. (Roni Sofer)
