A 65 magnitude earthquake struck the Philippines on Saturday 134 km south southwest of Cotabato, Mindanao, the US Geological Survey reported. It initially put the quake's strength at 6.7 and then revised it downward to 6.5.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said a destructive tsunami was not generated, "based on earthquake and historical tsunami data." (Reuters)
