Yigal Amir petitions against solitary confinement
None
Yigal Amir, assassin of late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabinm, has filed a petition with the Petah Tikva District in a motion to be allowed out of solitary confinement. Amir noted in his motion that he wishes to pray in a minyan (quorum of ten male Jewish adults required for certain religious obligations) towards the High Holy Days.
He added that he was being kept in solitary confinement longer than any other prisoner in history and that the reasons for this were political and lacking any justification. (Vered Luvitch)
