J'lem: Thousands partake in memorial rally for gay youth massacre

Some 3,000 people are participating in a rally in Jerusalem's Rose Garden marking the year anniversary of last year's murder in Tel Aviv's gay youth center.
Ayala Katz, mother of Nir Katz who was murdered in the youth center massacre, said to the crowd, "On August 1 last year, my son was murdered. We still don't know who did it to this day." According to her, the tragedy placed the issue of homophobia on the public agenda. (Ronen Medzini)
