Gov't decides to grant legal status to 800 foreign kids, deport 400
The government approved on Sunday the recommendations of the inter-ministerial committee on the status of foreign workers' children. The ministers voted 13:10 in favor of granting legal status to 800 children, who meet the committee's criteria, and deporting 400 kids.
"We do not want to create an incentive resulting in hundreds of illegal work immigrants sweeping the country," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said. (Attila Somfalvi)
