Foreign Ministry: Israel holds Lebanese gov't responsible for incident
The Foreign Ministry issued a statement following the fire exchange on the northern border which stated "Israel holds the Lebanese government responsible for the serious incident and warns against repercussions should such violations continue."
It was further stated, "Israel sees the firing on an IDF force which acted in coordination with UNIFIL in the border region in the last hours a blunt violation of Security Council Resolution 1701." The Israeli UN mission plans to file a complaint on the matter with the UN chief and Security Council. (Roni Sofer)
