IDF: Soldiers were on routine activity, Lebanon responsible
The IDF has placed responsibility for clashes in the Lebanese border on the Lebanese government and said that Lebanese soldiers had opened fire on an IDF force which was engaged in routine activity inside Israeli territory.
An IDF Spokesman's Unit statement noted that IDF troops fired back with artillery fire and aerial strikes. IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Gabi Ashkenazi has arrived at the northern border and held a status assessment. The IDF has requested residents to carry on with their normal routine.
