Tirkel disqualifies committee candidate due to press interview

Retired Supreme Court Justice Yaakov Tirkel disqualified the candidacy of Attorney Irit Kahan, who directed the State Prosecutor's Office International Affairs Department, for the investigative committee because she told the press what she thought of the flotilla events.
The issue arose following the State Prosecutor's response to a petition from women's groups to include women on the committee. However, Tirkel himself was interviewed by the press before being appointed to the committee. (Aviad Glickman)
