Chief Warden Kaniak says will not seek police commissioner role

Prison Services head Chief Warden Benny Kaniak announced to Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch (Yisrael Beitenu) that he intends to retire from service at the end of his term of office in April 2011, and will not put himself forward for the role of police commissioner. Upon his retirement, Kaniak will have served 33 years in the various security branches. (Raanan Ben-Zur)
