Poland's new pro-European president is sworn in

None

Poland's new president, Bronislaw Komorowski, has been sworn in for a 5-year term.

The pro-European Union and business friendly leader succeeds Lech Kaczynski, who was killed in a plane crash in Russia in April, a national tragedy that set off a period of mourning and an election to replace him. He took the oath of office before parliament on Friday, becoming the fourth democratically elected president since the fall of communism 20 years ago.(AP)
