Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah referred to the naval tragedy of 1997 in which 12 IDF soldiers were killed, saying that members of his organization had intercepted unencrypted pictures from an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle, which enabled them to set up the ambush. "We deciphered the pictures and understood that Israel was planning on operating there," he said. "Our men waited a few weeks, then one night some commandos… fell into the ambush."
