IDF changes approach to Lebanese army
None
The IDF decided to change its approach to the Lebanese army. Head of the Division for Strategic Planning and Foreign Relations Brig. Gen. Yossei Heiman notified the Lebanese chief of staff and head of operations that from now, until otherwise noted, the IDF will respond harshly to any attempt at aggressive activity.
Until the border skirmish, the Lebanese soldiers on the other side of the border were considered elements aiding the maintenance of stability alongside UNIFIL forces stationed in the south. Despite being in a declared state of war, IDF leaders would hold meetings with Lebanese military officials and UNIFIL. (Hanan Greenberg)
