Colombia's Santos, Chavez meet to mend ties

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez met on Tuesday to mend relations after a diplomatic dispute that has stalled trade and fueled worries over violence.
Tensions between the Andean neighbors have run high for more than a year with socialist Chavez imposing what Colombia describes as a trade embargo, but both leaders arrived at talks in the colonial city of Santa Marta vowing reconciliation. At the heart of the dispute are Bogota's charges that left-wing US foe Chavez harbors guerrillas and Venezuelan complaints about a Colombian deal to allow American troops more access to its military bases.
