Iran wants Brazil's voice in any nuclear talks

None

Iran's ambassador to Brazil says Tehran wants the Latin American nation and its president to play a role in any nuclear talks. Ambassador Mohsen Shaterzadeh also says his country will insist that any negotiations be based on a nuclear-fuel swap deal brokered by Turkey and Brazil in May.

That deal has been rejected by the United States and other nations pressuring Iran over its nuclear program. Shaterzadeh told the state-run Agencia Brasil news agency Friday that Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva brings the "hope and support" of developing nations to the discussion. (AP)
