Two Jordanian peacekeepers abducted by gunmen last week in Darfur were released on Tuesday unharmed, Jordan and the United Nations said.
Jordanian Information Minister Ali Ayed said the two, who were serving as police officers with the joint United Nations-African Union mission in the western Sudanese region, were in good condition. "They are in good health and with the Jordanian peacekeeping mission in Darfur," Ayed said. He gave no details on how the officers were freed. (AP)
