UNIFIL commander: Israel, Lebanon both want quiet in north

UNIFIL Force Commander Major-General Alberto Asarta Cuevas said both Israel and Lebanon wish to continue to maintain close ties with UNIFIL in order to keep the northern border quiet.
Neither of the two desire escalation, he said, adding that each must work to cease hostilities. On Wednesday he met with officers from the Israeli and Lebanese armies. (AFP)
