The leader of an al-Qaida-inspired group killed by Lebanese troops last weekend has been buried in a Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon. Hundreds of mourners attended the funeral of Abdul-Rahman Awad, a senior leader of Fatah Islam, who was buried with one of his top commanders on Thursday.

The two were killed by Lebanese security forces Saturday while en route to join an al-Qaida offshoot in Iraq, according to the Washington-based SITE Intelligence Group, which tracks militant postings on the Internet. (AP)
