Police boost forces in Jerusalem ahead of Friday prayer

The Jerusalem District Police has deployed thousands of policemen and Border Guard officers in east Jerusalem and the Old City alleys ahead of the prayer of the second Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.

Only men aged 50 and up and women aged 45 and up will be allowed into the Temple Mount. "The police will stop any attempt to disrupt the order, the security and the freedom of ritual on the part of any element," the Jerusalem Police said in a statement. (Ronen Medzini)
