Communications Minister Moshe Kahlon (Likud) asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to announce local elections at Lod Town Hall.
For many years Lod has suffered from budget deficits due to poor management. As a result, two years ago the Interior Ministry decided to appoint a committee to manage the city. (Roni Sofer)
