Erekat: Renewed settlement construction will kill peace talks
Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said Israel will cause the failure of the direct peace talks if it renews building in the settlements.
The peace talks are scheduled to begin at a Washington summit on September 2. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, PA President Mahmoud Abbas and Jordanian and Egyptian leaders are expected to participate. Some three weeks later, the moratorium on settlement construction is to come to an end. (Ali Waked)
