8 held hostage in bank robbery near Athens

A man took some eight people hostage in a bank robbery in Athens' port of Piraeus on Monday, police said.

Two men had stormed into a National Bank of Greece branch. One managed to flee when police arrived but another remained in the bank and took hostages, said a police official, speaking on condition of anonymity. (Reuters)
