Barak asks Ashkenazi to stay at post until Feb. 2011

Defense Minister Ehud Barak met with Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi for the first time since announcing the appointment Maj. Gen. Yoav Galant as the next chief of staff. Barak praised Ashkenazi for his contribution to the IDF and asked that he remain at his post until February 2011, the date set in law.
Barak is slated to meet later on Tuesday with Maj. Gen. Gadi Eizenkot and Maj. Gen. Avi Mizrahi. (Hanan Greenberg)
