Ashton says convicted Bilin activist displayed 'legitimate protest'
EU foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton expressed her concern over the conviction of Abdallah Abu Rahma, the chairman of the Popular Committee Against the Wall in Bilin, for incitement and illegal protest.
Ashton's office reported that she is deeply concerned that Abu Rahma's imprisonment is meant to prevent him and other Palestinians from holding legitimate protests against the separation fence. (Ynet)
