French president: Peace agreement within one year

French President Nicolas Sarkozy said he believed Israel and the Palestinians can reach a peace agreement within a year. In a conversation with French ambassadors, Sarkozy added that renewing direct negotiations created "big expectations and many hopes." (AFP)
