Foreign Ministry asks chief of staff not to break strike

The Foreign Ministry's employees' committee sent a telegram of warning to Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi demanding that he "stop the use of the IDF for the negative purpose of breaking the strike in the Foreign Ministry."
The telegram, a copy of which was sent to the foreign minister and all Foreign Ministry employees in Israel and the world, read, "IDF representatives in Israeli embassies throughout the world were instructed to carry out the work of members of the foreign service following the strike," and said this is a "essentially illegitimate public norm."
