"The Israeli government wants to advance in the peace process. We've proven over the past year how serious we are," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said ahead of direct talks with the Palestinians.
"We want true peace for generations, and only a Likud government can bring true peace. We will insist on effective security arrangements," he said during a Likud Party toast for the Jewish New Year. (Attila Somfalvi)
