Peres says Netanyahu up to task of peace talks

President Shimon Peres said direct negotiations to be launched between Israel and the Palestinians are "the most important mission of our time", and added that he believes Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "is aware of the scope of the mission he is faced with, and ready for the opportunity".
In a speech before members of the World Jewish Congress in Jerusalem, Peres added that "the window of opportunity is open, but is of impatient character". (Ronen Medzini)
