Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas are holding a meeting in Washington to launch direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.
Netanyahu said Wednesday night that he has come to Washington to find a "historic comprise." In a ceremony at the White House, he turned to the Palestinian president and said: "President Abbas, you are my partner for peace." Abbas condemned the two recent terrorist attacks in the West Bank.
