German police detained more than 100 left-wing activists participating in a counterprotest to a far-right rally in the western city of Dortmund after clashes broke out. At least one police officer has been injured.
Police spokesman Kim Freigang said Saturday almost 500 right wing extremists gathered in the city. Thousands of left-wing activists came out to challenge them and some became involved in clashes with police who temporarily detained 111 of them. (AP)
