Israel Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger, Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen and other religious and civilian authorities will be attending the rededication of one of the oldest synagogues in Budapest, which until recently was used as a television studio.
The synagogue, in Budapest's Obuda neighborhood, was inaugurated in 1821. After the Holocaust, during which hundreds of thousands of Hungarian Jews were killed, many of its members came from a nearby Jewish orphanage. (AP)
