Yigal Amir asks to be moved to religious wing in prison

Yigal Amir, the assassin of late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, asked during a hearing in Petah Tikva District Court to be transferred to the religious wing of the prison during Rosh Hashana as a trial period. Amir thus far has been held in a solitary cell in the prison.
During the hearing, Amir said that the Shin Bet is "making revenge against him" and that he is being held in stiffer conditions that security prisoners like head of the Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement Raed Salah and Tanzim Chief Marwan Barghouti. (Vered Luvitch)
