Former Mossad director Shabtai Shavit slammed Defense Minister Ehud Barak and IDF Chief Gabi Ashkenazi Sunday on the matter of IDF and Mossad appointments during a conference on the global war on terror in the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya.
Shavit was angered at the possibility that one of the major-generals who lost the race for the IDF chief post would be appointed as Mossad director. "Turning the Mossad director into a consolation prize is utter disrespect," he said. (Yoav Zitun)
