MK Eldad wants weapons laws changed for settlers

MK Arieh Eldad (National Union) called on the government to change the criteria required for possession of firearms where settlers are involved. "There are officers here with blood on their hands," he told the Knesset's Internal Affairs Committee.
The Committee's chairman, MK David Azoulay (Shas), demanded Eldad withdraw his statement, but was answered, "The statement may be harsh but the blood is harsher. The blood of victims is crying out from the earth." Interior Minister Eli Yishai said he had done all in his power to change the law, but that it was not up to him. (Roni Sofer)
