Palestinians to quit talks if settlements built

Palestinian negotiators will quit direct peace talks if Israel builds any new settlements after the end of a partial moratorium on construction in the West Bank, the Palestinian foreign minister said on Thursday.

"If one settlement is built after the end of the freeze, we will stop direct talks with Israel," the minister, Riyad al Maliki, told reporters on the sidelines of an Arab League meeting in Cairo. (Reuters)
