Blast in Iran kills 9; cause unclear

An explosion in the Iranian city of Mahabad killed nine people and wounded dozens on Wednesday, Iranian Arabic language television Al-Alam reported.

"The blast happened this morning at around 10:30 local time. Most of the nine killed are women and children. Dozens are injured. So far nobody has claimed responsibility," Al-Alam reported. (Reuters)
